Board of Adjustments

The Board of Adjustment oversees the enforcement of local zoning and coding regulations, including Planning and Zoning Ordinance 02-4[1] and Texas Local Government Code (Title 7, Chapter 11). The Board hears and decides appeals to existing zoning ordinances and authorizes applications by property owners to permit buildings or land use that vary from zoning.

The five-member Board of Adjustment is appointed by Marfa's City Council. Board members serve two-year terms, which are staggered. The meetings are held in the Casner Room at Marfa City Hall on an as-needed basis.
