Message from the Mayor
Greetings and welcome to the City of Marfa’s new website. I want to start by thanking our city employees for their service. Year round, they keep our citizens and visitors safe, respond quickly to emergencies, feed our seniors, and provide our community with books and programs. They greet visitors and point them to all the wonderful places our town has to offer. They fix our streets, keep the water running, and make sure the sewer is flowing. They provide the gas that warms our homes and businesses. They keep the books, answer the phones, and pay the bills. They do all of this and so much more.
Now we want to make sure their hard work in bringing you the services you need counts for even more. This website is all about providing quality public services, convenience, and transparency for you, residents of Marfa. We’ll continue to add content to provide you with full information about City departments, finances, and meeting schedules and to help you reach staff and elected officials easily.
The site currently includes agendas and minutes, ordinances and resolutions, and lists members of all our citizen committees and boards. From the website, you can apply for permits, pay a utility bill, or check hours of the recycling center as well as find out how to connect utility services, rent the USO building, or volunteer for a city-wide clean up day. We’ll update you with any emergency bulletins or announcements right here on the home page.
Our work is only as good as your ability to access city resources. So get started exploring the website, and please let us know what you think.
Mayor Ann Marie Nafziger
